Corn Gluten Meal

Note:  We are unable to source GMO-free corn gluten meal, so please be advised this product probably contains genetically modified corn.  Therefore, if you have a certified organic crop, this product is not suitable for use.

Corn Gluten Meal is a great soil amendment to nourish your soil. Great for lawns.

Corn Gluten Meal is a natural corn by-product that has historically been sold as animal feed and used as a common ingredient in many dry pet foods. University researchers discovered that amino acid chains abundant in Corn Gluten Meal prevent secondary roots from developing properly in germinating seeds.Thus, Corn Gluten Meal provides excellent pre-emergent weed control. It is effective with preventing germination of ALL kinds of seeds, so…it will also prevent germination of grass seeds, flower seeds, garden seeds, etc. You should wait about six weeks after application to start seeds following the use of Corn Gluten Meal. It will not interfere with established plants or with the development of newly planted bulbs or other starts you want to transplant in your garden.

APPLICATION RATE: Two (2) pounds per 100 square feet.

SPREADER SETTINGMeasure your lawn area. Fill your spreader with the amount of fertilizer needed to cover the area.  Set your spreader’s setting in the middle setting and walk back and forth across the area until the spreader hopper is empty. For example, if you wish to feed at the rate of 20 pounds per thousand square feet, measure an area 20 feet by 50 feet and fill your spreader with 20 pounds of fertilizer.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL:  Store in a cool dry location away from direct sunlight and animals.  Put empty bag in trash can.
