Description
Buckwheat grows quickly to suppress weeds, requires little moisture, and can grow in almost any soil. This plant attracts bees and butterflies and is best planted in the summer. When used as a green manure, it can be plowed under 7-10 days after flowering or 30 days after sowing. If allowed to grow to large, it becomes very difficult to plow in. Very sensitive to frost. Sow 60 pounds to the acre, 1/2 inch deep.
